Two cities from Cagayan Valley, namely Tuguegarao City and Cauayan City, are set to receive funding and technical support from DTI through the Lunsod Lunsad Project under the Malikhaing Pinoy Program.
A Ceremonial Awarding for Lunsod Lunsad: A Call for Creative Proposals Towards Building Creative Cities was conducted on 16 October 2023 at the Philippine Trade Training Center (PTTC), Pasay City. This was participated by Mayor Maila Ting-Que of Tuguegarao City, officials from Cauayan City, and DTI-Cagayan Provincial Director Henry O. Conel Jr representing DTI R2 Regional Director Leah Pulido Ocampo.
Out of the 47 proposals submitted by various cities in the country, 37 were selected and approved for funding and technical support.
The Lunsod Lunsad project is in line with the objectives of RA 11904 or the Philippine Creative Industries Development Act, particularly in the support and empowerment of local creative talents, promotion of economic sustainability, and development of cultural and creative landscapes of our country’s cities. #
