The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 4-A, in partnership with the Philippine Center for Entrepreneurship (PCE)-Go Negosyo, through DTI Cavite and DTI Quezon, successfully conducted the 2022 Kapatid Mentor ME-Money Market Encounter (KMME-MME) Online Multi-sectoral Batch Program Launch and Orientation via Zoom Teleconference with its 51 mentees from wholesale and retail trade, coffee, cacao, processed fruits and nuts, manufacturing, furniture and garments, construction, tourism, food service, processed foods, and agri-business industries.

Ten of the 51 mentees who will participate in the 12-week online program are from Quezon, 11 are from Cavite, with 10 each from Laguna, Batangas, and Rizal. From Quezon Province, the following mentees were selected:

  7. Ms. Czarina Mae U. Lasquety, Vasthara Apparel Enterprise
  8. Ms. Kathreen Joy H. Mangubat, Jaks Cakes & Pastries Corner
  9. Mr. Ronchard P. Santander, Kapertner Food Hub
  10. Mr. Giovanni L. Villela, RED JEEP Pizza Station

The KMME program, which started way back in 2016, is a 10-module mentorship program where large corporations teach micro and small businesses the different aspects of business operations. Meanwhile, the MME is a supplementary program for KMME graduates. When the pandemic started, the two programs were integrated as the activity shifted virtually.

The event was moderated by Mr. Voltaire “Bong” Magpayo, Certified PCE-Go Negosyo Mentor, and Ms. Joy Parohinog, Negosyo Center Business Counselor.

The welcome remarks from DTI 4A OIC-Regional Director Marissa C. Argente was followed by welcome statements from Usec. Blesila A. Lantayona and PCE-Go Negosyo Adviser, Engr. Merly Cruz.

On the other hand, Mr. Paul Anthony De Guzman, Program Development Officer for KMME, PCE-Go Negosyo, briefed the mentees on the introduction to Go Negosyo and KMME-MME program and zoom house rules.

The program concluded with closing remarks from Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa of DTI Quezon and Provincial Director Revelyn A. Cortez of DTI Cavite.

The KMME-MME Online MS module sessions will be conducted from 28 April to 9 June 2022, which will be followed by a 2-week coaching and writing session. Mentees will prepare and present an individual Business Improvement Plan as a major final output. The program will end on July 19 through a graduation ceremony.♦
