GUMACA, QUEZON — The Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) is a key tool for evaluating and improving a city or municipality’s competitiveness, which promotes local economic growth and development. CMCI assists local governments in identifying their strengths and weaknesses so they may develop sound policies and allocate resources efficiently.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)–Quezon Provincial Office along with the Office of the Provincial Planning and Development Coordinator (OPPDC)–Quezon and the Southern Luzon State University held a coaching session and validation visit to Gumaca, Quezon. The coaching session’s main goal was to offer guidance and assistance to improve Gumaca’s competitiveness according to the CMCI. The validation visit confirmed the validity and veracity of the CMCI information and rankings for Gumaca, reaffirming its dedication to promoting local economic development in the municipal.

Participating municipalities and cities received coaching to improve their competitiveness in light of the index results. The DTI Quezon and OPPDC Quezon offered insightful advice, aided in identifying areas for development, and helped create strategic action plans. The CMCI statistics and rankings are validated to guarantee their precision and dependability. The information submitted by the local governments is rigorously validated, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of the index results. Together, coaching and validation increase CMCI’s potency and legitimacy as a tool for fostering provincial growth and boosting competitiveness.
