The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) through its Negosyo Center in Santa Maria and in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Santa Maria conducted a Seminar on Business Plan Preparation and Financial Literacy last November 16, 2023, at the 3rd Floor, Integrated Municipal Building, Brgy. II (Pob.), Santa Maria, Laguna.
The activity was held as one of the requirements for grant-assisted applications under “Magnegosyo ‘Ta Day”, an entrepreneurship program of the office of the Vice President (OVP) that focuses on providing financial supports and business opportunities to women and members of the LGBTQ+ community. This inclusive program seeks to ensure economic growth and generate employment as the country recovers from the pandemic effects.
Mr. Nicols Consignado and Ms. Joemarie Valizado, Negosyo Center Business Counsellors assigned in Santa Maria and Paete, respectively, facilitated the abovementioned seminar, which aims to provide guidance and insights on creating a business plan. Additionally, it pursues to educate attendees on the importance of managing finances and how to better position themselves to take advantage of chances to enhance their quality of life.
A total of forty (40) officers of women’s groups from Brgy. Adia, Brgy. Cambuja, Brgy. Calangay and Brgy. Talangka in Santa Maria participated in the said event. ♦
