To adhere to CESO’s vision of “Stronger Economies for Better Lives” and its mission to empower and connect people, businesses, communities, and institutions, the Canadian Executive Service Organization – Accelerating Women’s Empowerment (CESO-AWE) in conversation with the Department of Trade and Industry Quezon Provincial Office and Negosyo Center Calauag to talk over the AWE Innovation Micro Fund Application grant proposal for an MSME in Calauag last 17 March 2022, at the DTI Quezon Provincial Office, Lucena City, Quezon Province.

Ms. Nenita B. Mendoza, owner of NBDM Farm and Food Products, is one of the applicants/recipients of the AWE Innovation Micro Fund this year. The fund aims to improve opportunities for women, increase women’s access to and control over resources, enhance women’s quality of life, and boost women’s confidence in their abilities. The fund is intended primarily to advance women’s economic empowerment and gender equality; respond to the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic; support innovation by individuals, businesses, or organizations that do not have access to loans from banks and other financial institutions; and support the response to climate change. The product or equipment bought with the AWE Innovation Micro fund must also be sustainable over time, serve the intended outcomes of the AWE program, be less than CAD 2,500, be monitored and evaluated collaboratively by its recipient, and be approved by a CESO Advisor.

Moreso, to hold fast to DTI’s responsibility for realizing the country’s goal of a globally competitive and innovative industry and services sector that contributes to inclusive growth and employment generation, the Quezon Provincial office through the Negosyo Center Calauag will help Ms. Mendoza during the application processing and up until the CESO approves the fund.
