The webinar on digital and mobile literacy for sari-sari store owners started at 1:30 p.m. Business Counsellor (BC) Keanu Miguel G. Ninobla of Negosyo Center Antipolo led the opening prayer and then announced the upcoming webinars, Kapatid Mentor ME orientation, and other events of DTI-Rizal.
Chief Trade and Industry Development Specialist Sharon F. Dioco of the Business and Development Division welcomed the participants and acknowledged the importance of micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). She reiterated that the webinar aimed to familiarize the participants with the current strategies to sustain business despite the pandemic by maximizing the benefits of going digital.
Afterwards, BC Ninobla formally introduced the resource speaker, Ms. Michelle Anne Lim. She comprehensively discussed the importance of Digital Literacy and Mobile Literacy in her presentation, citing figures and statistics of MSMEs, and internet and mobile users.
She emphasized the importance of MSMEs, especially the sari-sari stores. She also shared some online platforms and applications that can help MSMEs in their businesses. She encouraged them not to stop thriving for their success. She inspired them to continue learning to gain knowledge and use it to gain access to opportunities.
Afterwards, participants were given the chance to ask their questions. Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Marlene G. De Luna of DTI-Rizal then gave her closing remarks on behalf of Provincial Director Desiderio G. Jurado III. She also thanked the viewers for their participation and the business counsellors who assisted them during the webinar.
She also expressed her gratitude to Ms. Lim who shared her expertise as the resource speaker and being a partner of DTI-Rizal in helping and scaling up the MSMEs of the province. She encouraged everyone to actively participate in the upcoming online seminars of DTI-Rizal and the Negosyo Centers in the province. The fruitful webinar ended at 4:00 p.m.♦
