Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Negosyo Center Tayabas, Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Quezon, and local government unit (LGU) Tayabas, represented by the Office of The City Planning and Development Coordinator, Office of the City Architect, and Office of the City Engineering, conducted a joint site inspection of KALIPI-RIC Processing Building at Brgy. Mateuna, Tayabas City. The said site inspection focused on the ground floor of the processing building, in which RIC will produce meat products.

The processing area must conform with the GMP and FDA standards to ensure quality-safe meat products. This assistance was provided by Ms. Precious R. Monedera, Science Research Specialist II of DOST-Quezon thru plant layout consultation. She provided information advocacies in considering the position and layout of each processing facility to ensure that the product processed will avoid certain non-conformities to quality standards such as contamination, among others.

At the end of the inspection, Business Counselor (BC) Villadiego of DTI-Negosyo Center Tayabas and Shaira Anne A. Budoy of the Office of The City Planning and Development Coordinator, proposed action plans for the improvement of the facility. One of the action plans established is to request technical interventions from DOST as included in the pipeline for next year. ♦
