Department of Trade and Industry – Batangas Provincial Office through Negosyo Centers in the province, awarded of the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) livelihood seeding kits to chosen beneficiaries of 50 selected barangays which have been greatly affected by the pandemic. LSP-NSB is one of the DTI programs that aims to help small entrepreneurs recover from the effects of the pandemic situation in the country.

The awarding ceremony for District 2 beneficiaries was held on the 27th day of December 2021, at Citimart Bauan Batangas. The awarding for District 1 was held at Citimart Lemery; Districts 3 and 6 at Robinsons Place Lipa City, and District 4 at SM Hypermarket Rosario. The beneficiaries received Sodexo gift certificates worth P8,000 which they can use to purchase goods for their sari-sari stores or eatery businesses. Prior to the awarding, they were oriented about the guidelines and were instructed to purchase only the necessary goods essential to their businesses or those which they can sell easily.

One of the DTI’s grassroots approaches to MSMEs is the LSP-NSB Program, eyeing to increase the awareness of Barangay Officials and constituents about the services offered by the agency through its Negosyo Centers. More than ever, DTI implements programs like this to contribute to delivering business development assistance and services, in aim of uplifting local businesses.♦
