To enable a better marketplace and safeguard the interest and safety of consumers, the Department of Trade and Industry Region IV-A intensified its monitoring and enforcement activities in various business establishments.
DTI IV-A last May 12, 2017 conducted the Monitoring and Enforcement of Republic Act No. 4109, otherwise known as the Law on Product Standard, particularly for Fire Extinguishers (PNS 15–1:1989, PNS 15–3:1991, PNS 15–4:1991, and PNS 15–5:1996).

DTI IV- A Monitoring and Enforcement Team issued a Notice of Violation to the establishment found to be non-compliant with the above-cited law. Likewise, the non-complying establishment is directed to explain before the DTI IV-A Office in 48 hours.
DTI IV-A will continue to safeguard the welfare of consumers and maintain fair trade in the market places through conduct of intensified monitoring.
Consumers can rely on the department’s commitment to close monitoring of fair trade laws to avoid compromising consumers’ safety from the establishments that sell uncertified, inferior, or substandard products.
