VICTORIA, LAGUNA — DTI Laguna (Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry) in partnership with CCLD (Calamba City Livelihood Development of the City Government of Calamba) conducted an SME Roving Academy on Business Operations cum Consumer Education at the CCLD Training Room, Mercado de Calamba, Calamba City, Laguna, last April 27, 2023.

The said seminar was attended by twenty (20) potential entrepreneurs from different barangays of Calamba City. DTI Laguna Business Counsellor Edelyn Aireen Muñoz, the resource speaker for the topic Business Operations, talked about the different phases of operations revolving around the business. She also provided the participants with the importance of planning in every phase of the business and managing the business operations which was followed by a short workshop to learn about Tactical vs. Strategic Decisions.

Aside from the importance of business planning, the seminar also focused on the importance of planning, forecasting, scheduling, and productivity. Moreover, the participants were also informed of the significance of knowing the input–process–output elements of business operations.

Another topic discussed by DTI Laguna Business Counsellor Carl Eric Villanueva revolved around consumer education wherein he discussed consumer rights and responsibilities.

This activity under the program SMERA (SME Roving Academy) is one of DTI Laguna’s continuous assistance to provide developmental opportunities and educational experiences to would-be and existing micro, small, and medium enterprises in the province.
