MAGDALENA, LAGUNA — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI Laguna), in collaboration with the City of Calamba Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Department organized an SME Roving Academy on Negotiation with Buyers and Consumer Education at the CLDD Training Room, located in Mercado de Calamba, Calamba City, Laguna.
In the said capacity building activity, a total of sixteen (16) entrepreneurs and eighteen (18) aspirants from various barangays in Calamba City participated and attended.
DTI Laguna Negosyo Center Business Counsellor Elmer Sagales served as the resource speaker for the first topic — Negotiation with Buyers. He discussed the essentials of marketing and sales, the sales process and qualities of top sales people. He not only emphasized the significance of knowing the right processes but also stressed the importance of knowing how to handle difficult customers and the essential DOs and DONTs of selling. He cited examples such as keeping in mind to know your target prospects and always be prepared to ask questions and bring value to your products or services.
On the other hand, DTI Laguna Negosyo Center Business Counsellor Edelyn Aireen Muñoz served as the resource speaker for the second topic — Consumer Education. She provided insights on consumer rights and responsibilities, which is part of the organization’s ongoing commitment to provide developmental opportunities and educational experiences to both aspiring and established micro, small, and medium enterprises in the province.
This capacity building seminar is part of the commitment of both DTI Laguna and the City of Calamba Cooperatives and Livelihood Development Department to promote a culture of entrepreneurship among Calambeños and strengthen the cooperative movement in the city. ♦
