DTI Laguna together with the LSP-NSB beneficiaries in a Group Photo

Pakil, Laguna – Pursuant to the Republic Act Number 11469 also known as the Bayanihan Heal as One Act, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is tasked to conduct Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) to areas affected by COVID-19, especially the 4th to 6th class municipalities. This program will serve as the government’s assistance to the main catalyst of the economy, the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

Hence, the Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), through the Negosyo Center Pakil, in cooperation with LGU Pakil, Laguna, conducted the Entrepreneurial and Consumer Education Seminar to Livelihood Seeding Program as well as a Workshop on Simplified Action Plan for the LSP Beneficiaries on 7 December 2021, Tuesday, 9:00 am to 2:00 pm, at the Pakil Elementary School, Brgy. Burgos, Pakil, Laguna.

It started with an opening prayer led by Ms. Edelyn Aireen Muñoz. Followed by opening remarks by Don Kelly Fernandez, BPLO Staff of LGU Pakil. The seminar proper started with an Orientation on DTI Program on SME Development discussed by Negosyo Center Business Counselor (NCBC) Muñoz while the Consumer Protection Services as well as the Consumer Education was discussed by Marites V. Pantua.

Afterwards, NCBC Muñoz discussed the topic on How to Set-Up a Negosyo Serbisyo Sa Barangay Desk. And NCBC Andrea Mae Macuha discussed the topic on Setting Up a Business.

In addition, the participants of the seminar were able to have a written workshop on Simplified Action Plan which was facilitated by NCBCs Munoz, Macuha, Danica Briones and LSP-NSB Validator Cris Mark Bermudo.

This activity has served as a venue where the Livelihood Seeding Program beneficiaries was able to learn more about importance of Consumer Protection Law, Consumer Rights and Responsibilities, Business Name Law and knowing the right way on How to Start a Business.

Furthermore, a total 21 Business Name registration has been facilitated. The nine beneficiary barangays were also able to receive DTI LSP-NSB face masks.

Finally, the activity was rated satisfactorily by the participants consisting of 48 beneficiaries and five representatives/officials from Barangay Kabulusan and three personnel from LGU Pakil ♦
