CALAMBA CITY — The Laguna Provincial Office of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI Laguna) continues its provision of business information and advocacy to empower businesses and encourage future entrepreneurs. In line with this aim, DTI Laguna collaborates with other government agencies to provide extension services to clients.

On August 14, 2023, DTI Laguna in partnership with Calamba Manpower Development Center (CMDC) of the City Government of Calamba conducted a one-day seminar at CLDD Training Center, Mercado de Calamba, Calamba City, Laguna. The following topics were discussed by Mr. Carmello Lawrence Sta. Maria, Ms. Avegail Agojo, Ms. Julie Flor Garcia, Ms. Jerilyn Soriano, and Mr. Carl Eric Villanueva, respectively, who are all DTI Laguna Negosyo Center Business Counsellors: Food Safety, Packaging and Labeling, Pricing and Costing, Google my Business, and Entrepreneurship.

A total of eighty-eight (88) students from CMDC enrolled at the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) participated in the event. The speakers shared their knowledge and expertise in the aforementioned fields. A collaboration with the participants was done by answering the questions raised at the seminar.

CMDC Development Officer Mr. Tonymer Victor L. Castillo gave an introductory speech to encourage the students to be more appreciative about engaging in business and to adopt the new knowledge they will learn at the seminar.

CMDC will continue to conduct training seminars for the TESDA students and DTI Laguna will continue the provision of business advocacy to clients. Another set of seminars will be conducted in September 2023. These seminars will help them to be prepared in the future as an individual as well as a business entity.
