The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office, through the Negosyo Center San Pedro City and in partnership with the City Cooperative and Livelihood Development Office (CCLDO) of LGU San Pedro City, Laguna, launched the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Program at Pacita Convention Center, Barangay Pacita 1, San Pedro City, Laguna, last 27 May 2022. It was attended by 70 beneficiaries of the said program in San Pedro. Topics discussed during the event were the DTI Programs and Services, PPG Program, How to Start a Business, and Salient Features of the Consumer Act of the Philippines.

The program started with the opening prayer and acknowledgment of guests and participants by DTI-Laguna PPG Coordinator Joemarie C. Valizado, followed by a welcome message from the Head of CCLDO LGU San Pedro City Ruby O. Adajar.

Mr. Christian Ted Tungohan, Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist of DTI-Laguna, also gave an inspirational message to the participants and emphasized the importance and benefits of the said activity.

Then, Valizado presented the different programs and services of DTI, followed by Tungohan who discussed Consumer Education including the basic rights and responsibilities of a consumer. Valizado also talked about the important details of the PPG Program then DTI-Laguna Negosyo Center Senior Business Counsellor Onyx C. Lim conducted an entrepreneurial seminar on setting up a business for the PPG beneficiaries. The topics of discussion included the Pros and Cons of having a business and the nine (9) steps in starting a business.

Lastly, Valizado administered a workshop on creating a simplified action plan for their business. After all the training and discussion, Tungohan gave his closing remarks to the participants.

All the beneficiaries were very grateful for being chosen as recipients of this livelihood seeding program and for attending this series of entrepreneurship training. The PPG Program of DTI is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program for micro-enterprises, with priority in areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities, including health disasters such as pandemics, and individuals and enterprises in the National Capital Region who have voluntarily moved to identified rural areas under the Balik Probinsya Program to establish or relocate an enterprise.

Awarding of livelihood kits amounting to Php8,000.00 per beneficiary will be scheduled in September 2022. ♦
