The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna continues to help MSMEs by bringing programs, and activities, and providing business development assistance closer to the people. Pursuant to the Republic Act 11469 also known as Bayanihan Heal as One Act, we are tasked to conduct Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) to areas affected by COVID-19, especially the 4th to 6th class municipality. One of the objectives of the program is the provision of “business kits” to targeted beneficiaries from target barangays that will help them restore and improve their businesses.
In line with this, DTI-Laguna through Negosyo Center Paete, conducted the ceremonial awarding of gift certificates to the LSP-NSB beneficiaries in the said municipality on 18 March 2022, Friday, 02:00 PM-04:00 PM, at the covered court of the Barangay Quinale, Paete, Laguna. The program consists of 30 identified beneficiaries from six (6) barangays namely: Ermita, Maytoong, Ilaya del Sur, Bagumbayan, Ibaba del Sur and Ibaba del Norte.
The program started with an opening prayer led by NCBC Ms. Apple Fatima R. Plopino and was followed by the acknowledgment of the guest and participants. Hon. Rojilyn Q. Bagabaldo, Municipal Mayor of Paete, delivered his welcome remarks to guest and participants.
Then, DTI-Laguna, Trade-Industry Development Specialist, Abigail Ezra C. Del Mundo delivered her inspirational message to the participants and shared how DTI helped MSMEs reached their potential in their respective businesses. Afterward, the beneficiaries took and signed their Pledge of Commitment and immediately followed by the awarding proper. Lastly, Christian Ted O. Tungohan, DTI-Laguna, Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist, gave his closing remarks to the beneficiaries who attended a series of training and seminars before receiving their prefer kits.
All the beneficiaries and the local officials were very grateful for being chosen as recipients of this livelihood program. They expressed their gratitude for this opportunity to improve the business climate in their area through DTI’s Livelihood Seeding Program.♦
