The Department of Trade and Industry—Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) continuously helps Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) by bringing programs and activities and by providing business development assistance closer to the people.

Pursuant to Republic Act 11469, also known as the Bayanihan Heal as One Act, the Department is tasked with conducting Livelihood Seeding Program–Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) in areas affected by COVID-19, especially the 4th to 6th class municipalities. One of the objectives of the program is the provision of “business kits” to identified beneficiaries from target barangays that will help them restore and improve their businesses.

In line with this, DTI-Laguna through its three Negosyo Centers (Paete, Pakil, and Pangil) launched LSP-NSB with an Entrepreneurship and Consumer Education and Advocacy Seminar for the identified beneficiaries and Barangay Development Councils of the three said municipalities on September 7, 2022. This was held at the Municipal Evacuation Center, Highway, Barangay Tavera, Pakil, Laguna. How to set up an NSB Desk was also discussed during the launch.

The event was attended and participated in by eighteen (18) beneficiaries from three barangays in Pakil (Brgy. Taft, Brgy. Saray, and Brgy. Dorado); six (6), from one barangay in Paete (Brgy. Bangkusay); and six (6), from one barangay in Pangil (Brgy. Mabato-Azufre).
