Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna, through its Negosyo Center, started conducting the “Diskwento Caravan” in 2009 to provide opportunities for consumers to access basic goods, school supplies, and prime commodities at discounted or reduced prices by bringing manufacturers and big retailers to sell their products near the consumers/public. In this program, manufacturers and/or distributors sell their products ranging from 5% to 50% lower than the suggested retail price (SRP) or prevailing price.

The Puregold Price Club Inc. Team chose Barangay Caliraya in Lumban, Laguna as their venue to conduct the Diskwento Caravan wherein they marketed for three days before to help them reach their target sales worth P200,000.

In order to conduct the said program and to help consumers have easy access to these products, the DTI-Laguna, through Negosyo Center Lumban, partnered with the Local Government Unit – Lumban and Barangay Caliraya.

The said activity was held last 28 February 2022 that started from 9AM-4PM at the Covered Court of Barangay Caliraya in Lumban, Laguna. It was spearheaded by Puregold Manager Adam Mendoza and alongside with their team. Also present were the Barangay Caliraya Treasurer Representative Jocelyn Nedia and Negosyo Center Business Counselor of Lumban Ms. Jamila Eleazar.

Overall, the recently conducted Diskwento Caravan was a success. It received positive comments from customers and expressed their satisfaction with the activity. The Puregold Price Club Inc. Team had a total of 122 transactions from Barangay Caliraya which helped them exceed their target sales and generated a total of P221,664.25.♦
