As part of the continuous efforts of the government in providing business development assistance and encouraging the growth of MSMEs, DTI is conducting Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) to different cities/municipalities in the province of Laguna.

The LSP-NSB is a program of DTI through the Negosyo Centers (NCs) that allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing programs, activities, and services closer to the people through its partnerships with relevant local government units. Also, one of the objectives of the program is the provision of “business kits” to identified beneficiaries from target barangays that will help them restore and improve their businesses.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna Provincial Office through the NC Siniloan conducted the Awarding of LSP-NSB Business Kits on 22 March 2022, Tuesday, 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, at the Green House Eco Pilgrimage Park, Brgy. Macatad, Siniloan, Laguna. This activity was attended and participated by DTI staff and the 30 beneficiaries from five (5) identified barangays in Siniloan, Laguna, namely: Laguio, Liyang and Mayatba.

The program started with the preliminaries of opening prayer led by NC Siniloan Business Counselor, Josephine Ballesteros and acknowledgement of participants. Senior Trade and Industry Development Specialist Arnel M. Magpily delivered welcome message towards the participants on behalf of Provincial Director Clarke S. Nebrao.

It was followed by an informative message delivered by Office of the Provincial Director Head Christian O. Tungohan encouraging the MSMEs to be hardworking and positive during these trying times. Mr. Tungohan patiently shared the other processes needed in order to acquire the livelihood kits DTI helped other MSMEs reach their potential in their respective businesses. To proceed, the beneficiaries took and signed their Pledge of Commitment to the program. It was immediately followed by the awarding proper. A total of 30 business kits were awarded to beneficiaries in the form of gift certificates.

To end the event, Tungohan also gave the closing remarks to the beneficiaries on behalf of DTI Laguna Business Development Chief, Ms. Marcelina Alcantara. He hopes that every MSME maximizes the opportunity that DTI-Laguna gave to them. ♦
