The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon through Negosyo Center (NC) Dolores, together with the Local Government Unit of Dolores, organized and conducted a seminar entitled “Basic Accounting and Bookkeeping.” It was held on 23 November 2021, at 9:30 a.m. in Sinsayan, Brgy. Silanganan, Dolores, Quezon. With 32 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) as participants, the event was significantly successful.
The program started with an invocation and the singing of the National Anthem, followed by the welcome remarks of Municipal Councilor Hon. Belinda P. Cruz, who is also the head of trade and commerce in the municipality. It was followed by the overview of the program and the introduction of the resource speaker by Aicel Joy S. Dongon, NC Business Counselor of Dolores. The resource speaker of the said program was Mr. Gene Emil A. de la Cruz, from the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants’ Quezon Chapter, who shared very fruitful learning on mentoring the MSMEs on the basics of accounting and how much it may help their businesses.
In her closing remarks, Ena A. Santiago, on behalf of Thomas Cyril A. Cauyan, the Business Permit and Licensing Officer in the municipality, concluded the seminar.
Despite the pandemic that we’re still facing, the service of providing opportunities for our MSMEs is still continuous. It may seem like a small act of public service, but the ripple effect of empowering our entrepreneurs would not only benefit them but the whole economy as well. ♦
