The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Program (PPG) is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program for microenterprises, prioritizing areas affected by fire incidents and other calamities, including armed conflicts and health disasters. It is a post-disaster response mechanism that aims to accelerate the recovery of affected businesses and communities by giving them livelihood assistance and entrepreneurship programs. As part of the program’s objective, DTI Quezon conducted a seminar entitled “Doing Business on Recovery Period” in different municipalities of Quezon: Catanauan (13 May), Calauag (17 May), San Antonio and Dolores (18 May), Atimonan (19 May), General Luna and Mulanay (20 May), Candelaria (25 May), Padre Burgos and Unisan (26 May), Agdangan and Macalelon (27 May), and Lucban (30 May). These seminars were attended by the identified PPG Beneficiaries of the aforementioned municipalities, as well as various LGU representatives who are staunch partners and supporters of the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) development.
The first three municipalities were facilitated by the invited resource speaker, Ms. Rosemarie E. Danza, while the remaining areas were facilitated by DTI Quezon PPG Staff, Mr. John Mark Ricaro, and Ms. Marianne Marie A. Adornado. During the seminar, the following topics were thoroughly discussed: The economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic; What is Business?, How to Start a Business; Characteristics of a Successful Entrepreneur; SWOT Analysis; the 4Ps of Marketing; and Pricing and Costing.
These half-day seminars were designed to assist the eligible PPG beneficiaries to restore and continue their means of livelihood and acquire the progressive approach to managing their business in times of unprecedented calamities or pandemics that they have experienced. It was also done through the coordination with Negosyo Center Business Counselors and also supported by the Local Government Units of the respective municipalities. Ms. Anna Marie V. Quincina, Chief of Business Development Division of DTI Quezon, was also present during the conduct of seminars in the municipalities of Dolores and Agdangan, Quezon.♦
