The Department of Trade and Industry – Quezon Provincial Office, in coordination with the Provincial Government of Quezon, Office of Congressman David C. Suarez and ALONA Partylist, successfully conducted a Seminar on Entrepreneurial Mindsetting on How to Recover from the Crisis and the Awarding of DTI Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Livelihood Kits on 1 March 2022, held at the Quezon Convention Center, Lucena City. The event was attended and participated in by 1,175 participants from Districts 1 and 2 of Quezon Province.

The event was initiated by the office of Cong. David C. Suarez primarily to address the continuous crisis that the community is experiencing brought by the pandemic and other unexpected calamities. Identified beneficiaries have been endorsed to DTI. With this request, a livelihood seeding program and an entrepreneurial seminar were agreed upon to be given to the identified beneficiaries.

The event was formally opened with an encouraging welcome remark delivered by Diony C. Rodolfa, Chief of Staff, District Office from the Office of Cong. David C. Suarez. It was followed by the seminar proper. Resource Speaker Jorge Noel Y. Wieneke III of JWIEN Corp. talked about Entrepreneurial Mind setting on How to Recover from the Crisis. In his discussion, he mentioned that 2021 is the year of survival and 2022 is the year of hope. He instilled in the attendees’ minds how important it is to have the courage to dream and act on those dreams.

The seminar was followed by the messages of Honorable Guests. On behalf of DTI Secretary Ramon M. Lopez, Asec. Domingo R. Tolentino Jr. delivered an inspiring message to almost 1,200 participants, including the 100 DTI PPG Beneficiaries along with all the attendees of the event. Even though Sec. Lopez wasn’t able to attend the event, he also gave his video message of inspiration and encouragement. Moreover, Gov. Danilo Suarez, Cong. David “JayJay” C. Suarez, Board Member Yna Liwanag, and Atty. Ferdinand “Bong” Talabong gave their messages of support to the beneficiaries and participants of the program.

The last part of the program is the Awarding of DTI Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa Livelihood Kits worth 10,000 pesos each to the 100 identified PPG beneficiaries: 35 from Lucena City, 5 each from the municipalities of Sariaya, Candelaria, and Tiaong, 10 beneficiaries each from Mauban and Lucban, and 15 each from the City of Tayabas and Pagbilao. The ceremonial turnover of DTI PPG Livelihood Kits was led by Asec. Domingo R. Tolentino, DTI 4A Regional Director Marilou Q. Toledo, DTI Quezon Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa, Resource Speaker Mr. Jorge Noel Y. Wieneke III, Gov. Danilo Suarez, Cong. David C. Suarez, Hon. Yna Liwanag, Atty. Bong Talabong and Mr. Diony C. Rodolfa.

In addition, information booths were also present inside the venue for the participants who were interested in inquiring about business-related concerns. The line of agencies that conducted consultations and information booths were DTI, SB Corp, Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR), Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Philhealth, Social Security System (SSS), Department of Science and Technology (DOST), and Pag-IBIG.♦
