Product/process standardization for food products infographic

The Department of Trade & Industry – Quezon Provincial Office conducted the webinar entitled “Product / Process Standardization for Food Products via Zoom and Facebook Live on 10 September 2021.

Engr. Menandro “Nanding” Ortego, an international food quality safety consultant and the Managing Director of Conformance Training Consultancy Services (CTCS) commissioned as the resource speaker.

At this part of program, MSMEs were given awareness on the importance of producing safe and quality processed products and discussed the food hazards and food preservation technologies.

After, the resource speaker focused on the product/process standardization to ensure that goods or services produced in a specific industry has consistent quality and are comparable to other products or services in the same industry. Also to create procedures/practices to guide the creation of a good or service based on the requirements of all the relevant parties in the industry (market/regulatory/stakeholders).

Participants were educated on the importance of ensuring safe and standardize processing for human consumption as this is an important requisite for the Quezon micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to comply with the Food and Drug Administration – License to Operate (FDA – LTO) and be acknowledged as globally competitive producers. ♦
