LUCENA, CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon had a meeting with the Philippine Coconut Authority Region IV on April 25, 2023, at the DTI Quezon Provincial Office, Lucena City, for the upcoming CFIDP Kalakal Quezon Trade Fair this coming May 2023, facilitated by TIDS Honeylee O. Eclavea, CFIDP Project Coordinators, Lawrence Joseph L. Velasco, and Dara Jannes C. Obmerga at the DTI Quezon Provincial Office, Lucena City.
The meeting started with an introduction of attendees by TIDS Eclavea and an overview of the Kalakal Quezon. She welcomed Sir Ronderick Obnamia from the Philippine Coconut Authority.
CFIDP Project Coordinator Velasco also explained the purpose of the meeting. Because the beneficiaries of CFIDP activities such as trade fairs and other marketing activities must be accredited by PCA, they wanted to inquire with PCA on how DTI-assisted MSMEs can be accredited.
Sir Obnamia said MSMEs (sole proprietors) can also apply for PCA accreditation. He suggested helping DTI Quezon by conducting an accreditation caravan for DTI-assisted MSMEs such as sole proprietors, associations, and cooperatives whose products are coconut, coffee, and cacao.
Sir Obnamia also shared that the PCA accreditation is only valid for one year. January 15, 2024, is the date of the renewal of the accreditation.
The team also suggested the accreditation be conducted in May 2023. ♦
