The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through Negosyo Center Dolores, in cooperation with the local government unit (LGU) of Dolores and in partnership with the Barangay Local Government Unit headed by Punong Barangay Romulo A. Reyes conducted the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) last 20 February 2022 in Brgy. Manggahan, Dolores, Quezon. The aim of the said program is to provide wider business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through partnerships between relevant local government units and DTI officials.

DTI campaigns have the goal of increasing micro, small and medium enterprises’ (MSME) awareness of the programs and services that DTI may offer for business owners and consumers. That being so, Business Counselor (BC) Aicel Dongon invited the barangay officials of Manggahan to attend the seminar about the functions, programs, services, and other relevant information offered by DTI, which they can disseminate and pass on to their respective constituents, given the platform that they have as an advantage. It was attended by 12 barangay officials. Present at the said event are the MSMEs in the barangay, including the five beneficiaries of the program who will receive their respective livelihood kits to help aid their growing businesses. The remaining participants were previously reached through information dissemination, where they also received information materials about DTI programs and services and hygiene kits inclusive of alcohol and facemask.

With businesses and the economy changed by COVID-19, the DTI continually extends its assistance to help MSMEs. ♦
