CALAUAG, QUEZON — To promote peace and order in the community and combat drug abuse through coordinated efforts among various government agencies, private organizations, and local stakeholders, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)—Quezon, through its Negosyo Center—Calauag, participated in the Municipal Peace and Order Council-Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MPOC-ADAC) Full Council Meeting, 1st Quarter CY 2023, in Calauag, Quezon, on February 13, 2023.

The MPOC-ADAC is a local government council that plays a crucial role in promoting safety and security in the community, and its meetings serve as an important platform for collaboration and coordination among various stakeholders. The council meets regularly to discuss issues related to crime prevention, drug interdiction, and law enforcement, among others.

Also, the meeting provides an opportunity for local officials to report on recent accomplishments and share best practices with other members, wherein Negosyo Center–Calauag Business Counselor Ma. Isabel C. Hirang takes heed of members’ reviews and assessments of the implementation of the council’s plans and programs, identifies areas for improvement, and develops strategies to address emerging concerns.

On the agenda were the peace and order and public safety situation reports from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Philippine Army, Bureau of Fire Protection, PNP-MARITIME, Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office, Municipal Agriculturist, and other agency members. Other concerns discussed pertain to the implementation of road clearing operations, traffic management, and the strengthening of the Local Government Unit (LGU) and National Government communication and information systems to keep the citizens informed of the various programs and activities and in conducting various public awareness campaigns of the LGU.
