On 26 October 2021, via Zoom and Facebook (FB) Live, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon successfully conducted the first webinar in the Integrated Digitalization and Innovation for MSMEs webinar series, Effectively Sell Online with Great Product Photography. Joseph F. Galian, Photography Educator of the Federation of the Philippine Photographers Foundation, Inc. (FPPF) and the Miriam College, was invited to lecture on this topic. He was the founding faculty of the Philippines’ first AB Photography Degree Program. There were 356 attendees via Zoom and 77 participants via FB Live streaming, with the FB recording generating over 500 views.

Honeylee O. Eclavea welcomed the participants, especially the selected beneficiaries enrolled in the program. This was followed by the introduction of the Resource Speaker by Jaryz Eden J. Lloce.

Before beginning his presentation, Galian advised the audience to plan ahead of time for creativity, appropriate equipment and apps, competent photography, critical lighting and colors, compose for layout flexibility, and how to enhance photos. Following the definition of photography as a concept-driven medium. He then went on to discuss smartphone references, lenses, sensor sizes, shooting distance, right exposure modes, manual mode, sharp focus, and proper colors in his talk.

He also gave composition advice, such as shooting wider and using the rule of thirds. Basic lighting was also discussed, including its types, positions, quality, 3-D contrasts, and portrait lighting patterns.

Following that, a product photo critique was held to provide critical feedback on how to improve the product images of the following micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs):

Ma. Cristina J. Avio delivered the closing message. The webinar was moderated by John Mark P. Ricaro, Negosyo Center Unisan Business Counselor. Technical assistance was also given by Regine L. Avellano, Ms. Chelsea Ann A. Canales, Carl Kenneth C. Balauag, Janice Rivera, and Lorenzo Eric Maaño.
