LUCBAN, QUEZON — On February 23, 2023, DTI Quezon under its Shared Service Facility (SSF) and Negosyo Center Program led by Business Development Division Chief Anna Marie V. Quincina, together with Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma and SSF Support Staff Dendro M. Pereda conducted a visit at Banahaw Technological College Inc. (BTCI) and physical monitoring of SSF for Meat Processing in Lucban, Quezon.

The DTI team initially visited the BTCI Facility located at Brgy. Manasa, Lucban, Quezon. They were welcomed by Dr. Tomas Abustan; President of the BTCI and were also able to meet the Sangguniang Bayan of Lucban composed of Hon. Aven Rada, Hon. Nyerwina B. Pavino, Hon. Marife V. Hari together with Administrative Aide I Kryssa Casiño and NC Lucban Ella Queen V. Arguelo. The visit aims to discuss the development of the Handloom Production or “Lucban Hinabi” at the BTCI Facility led by Dr. Abustan. The Sangguniang Bayan showed their full support and committed to prioritize and develop the said project not only for the benefit of the local residents of Lucban, as well as to restore the dying tradition of the “Hinabi” (weaving).

After the visit, the DTI team also conducted a Physical Monitoring at the SSF for Meat Processing at Southern Luzon State University located at Brgy Ayuti, Lucban, Quezon. Ms. Marilyn Baer, the Focal Person for the SSF Project, welcomed the DTI Team and gave a tour inside the SSF Facility. The building and the machines are properly maintained and utilized. Property tags are also in good condition. According to Ms. Baer, they are making sure that the machines are properly kept and are being used depending on the orders that they are getting from clients. She also added that despite the low demand from the market during these times, they still continue to operate for the sake of their regular customers as well as the utilization of the machines.
