DTI Quezon led by Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa and Business Development Division Chief Anna Marie V. Quincina, and Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma and SSF Support Staff Dendro M. Pereda visited the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mauban

MAUBAN, QUEZON — On February 27, 2023, DTI Quezon, under its Shared Service Facility (SSF) Program led by Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa and Business Development Division Chief Anna Marie V. Quincina, and Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma and SSF Support Staff Dendro M. Pereda visited the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Mauban and physical monitoring on SSF for Buri Processing in Mauban, Quezon.

The DTI team initially visited the Municipal Hall of Mauban to have a courtesy meeting with Hon. Mayor Bautista Erwin Dwight C. Pastrana and other Local Government units in Mauban. Despite the busy schedule, Hon. Mayor Pastrana gave time to meet the DTI team upon arrival at the Municipal Hall. Provincial Director Tadiosa starts the discussion with the existing DTI Programs in the Municipality, specifically the SSF for Buri Processing. The DTI team discussed the background of the SSF Project and the current status of the machines. Different concerns regarding the project were also addressed, and the LGU committed to providing the necessary assistance for the SSF Project. Hon. Mayor Pastrana also gave insights into the upcoming activities for Mauban and other potential coordination with DTI.

The DTI team also had a chance to meet with Hon. Mayor Pastrana’s wife, Hon. Maria Teresa Jacobo Pastrana, to discuss other programs for women with whom the DTI can collaborate and assist. Different groups in the municipality are already identified, and they are currently in the initial stages of developing programs that can benefit the said groups.

After the courtesy meeting with the LGU, the DTI team proceeded with the Physical Monitoring of the SSF for Buri Processing located at Poblacion, Mauban. Ms. Rovelyn E. Oliveros, the focal person of the SSF project, guided the DTI team to the location of the machine being utilized by the Cooperator. The DTI team was able to inspect and check the facility as well as the actual machine for the project. The building and machines are properly maintained and utilized as well. The property tags are a bit worn but are still visible, and the machine is in good running condition. Ms. Oliveros also added that she ensures that the machine is consistently operated even without orders as a maintenance procedure and to ensure that the machine is working correctly. There are minor issues in using the machine, such as the foot pedal and the cover for the actual machine, but Ms. Oliveros has already addressed the issue with the management of the Cooperator and the LGU Mauban.
