SAMPALOC, QUEZON — On February 28, 2023, DTI Quezon, under its Shared Service Facility (SSF) Program led by Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa, together with Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist (STIDS) Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma and SSF Support Staff Dendro M. Pereda, conducted a visit to the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Sampaloc and physical monitoring of the SSF for Buri Products Manufacturing in Sampaloc, Quezon.

The DTI team initially visited the Municipal Hall of Sampaloc to have a courtesy meeting with Hon. Mayor Noel Angelo T. Devanadera and NC Business Counselor of Sampaloc, Rowena Magtibay. Hon. Mayor Devanadera also gave the DTI team a warm welcome inside his office. Provincial Director Tadiosa started the discussion with the existing DTI programs present in the municipality, specifically the SSF for Buri Products Manufacturing under its cooperator, the Sampaloc Weavers Association. Hon. Mayor Devanadera also gave his insights about the SSF project as well as its cooperator. Despite having minor challenges in the operation and management of the project, Hon. Mayor Devanadera gave a positive outlook on the continued beneficial impact of the said SSF Project for the municipality and its local residents.

After the courtesy meeting with the LGU, the DTI team proceeded with the Physical Monitoring of the SSF for Buri Products Manufacturing located at the Sampaloc Public Market Livelihood Training Center, Sampaloc. The team is welcomed by the members of the Sampaloc Weavers Association, led by their president, Ms. Ofelia Gagan. Provincial Director Tadiosa and STIDS Ledesma had a discussion with Ms. Gagan regarding the status of the SSF Project, while SSF Support Staff Pereda inspected the machines and equipment being utilized by the cooperator. The property tags are all present except for the most recent machines delivered at the facility. The members of the association are able to utilize all the machines in the facility despite having limited orders and are also able to assist other users that produce Buri products. It was decided that the DTI will assist the association regarding their concerns in their operations in coordination with the LGU Sampaloc.
