CANDELARIA, QUEZON — On April 13, 2023, DTI Quezon’s Shared Service Facilities (SSF) conducted thesoft launch of the SSF for Multi-commodity Processing worth Php 3,500,000 granted to the Local Government Unit (LGU) Candelaria in Pahinga Sur, Candelaria, Quezon.
The event started with an invocation from CFID Project Coordinator Dara Jannes O. Obmerga, followed by the Philippine National Anthem. Negosyo Center Business Counselor of Candelaria Jerwin A. Samson acknowledged the participants and guests, including the members of the Candelaria Farmers Federation Association (CFFA), the direct beneficiaries of the SSF Project. Hon. George D. Suayan, Municipal Mayor of Candelaria, delivered a warm welcome remark quoting “hindi po ito masasayang, kapag gagamitin natin ng maayos at kapag hindi po natin ito ginamit, masasayang,” which encourages the beneficiaries to utilize and take care of the machines granted by the SSF Project.
Afterward, Municipal Engr. Reynante H. Plata gave an overview of the facility as well as the plan for the facility to be a fully operational Food Processing Facility. It was also noted by Mayor Suayan that the LGU Candelaria is already allocating resources and funds necessary for the completion of the said facility.
DTI Provincial Director Julieta L. Tadiosa and Ms. Eleonor Zabella from the Office of the Provincial Agriculturist (OPA) also gave their inspirational messages, ensuring that DTI and OPA are here to provide assistance and support for the Project in its progress toward becoming a successful Food Processing Facility.
After the inspirational messages is the Ceremonial Turnover of Equipment led by SSF Provincial Coordinator Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma, where the Certificate of Award is given to the cooperator, which is LGU Candelaria.
Mayor Suayan and the President of the CFFA gave a short message of acceptance and thanked all the entities involved in the said project. It was followed by the closing remarks from DTI Business Development Division Chief Anna Marie V. Quincina, wherein she expressed joy on behalf of the DTI at the sincerity of the LGU Candelaria to ensure that the project will become successful.
After the short program, the participants and guests proceeded with the Ribbon Cutting & Demo of the machines. Ms. Zabella thoroughly guided LGU Candelaria and the CCFA inside the facility and presented the machines granted through the SSF Project. ♦
