LUCBAN, QUEZON — On April 4, 2023, DTI Quezon, under its Shared Service Facilities (SSF), led by Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist and SSF Provincial Coordinator Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma, together with SSF Support Staff Dendro M. Pereda and Negosyo Center Business Counselor of Lucban Marianne Marie A. Adornado, conducted a visit at the Banahaw Technological Institute (BTCI) Facility and physical monitoring of SSF for Passion Fruit Processing and Organic Products Processing in Lucban, Quezon.

The DTI team initially visited the BTCI facility to meet with President Thomas Abustan. The visit also aims to discuss the ongoing development and restoration of the “Lucban Hinabi” project. Mr. Abustan discussed the current status of the recently trained weavers and scheduled a follow-up meeting with the officers of the said weavers to conduct a training needs assessment and prepare plans and programs for the development of the said project.

The DTI team also conducted physical monitoring of SSF for Passion Fruit Processing under the Cooperator Passion Fruit and Vegetable Growers Marketing Association of Lucban (PAFVEGMAL). The team was welcomed by the focal person, Ms. Maria Bernardita E. Villaverde, and assisted inside their facility. Upon inspection, most of the property tags on the machines are visible. Also, the team was informed by Ms. Villaverde that some of the machines are in the other store room where they are being kept. According to Ms. Villaverde, the association will also conduct a meeting regarding the current status of the SSF Project and submit an updated report and inventory of the machines.

After the monitoring in PAFVEGMAL, the DTI team also conducted Physical Monitoring at the SSF for Organic Products Processing under its Cooperator Lucban Integradong Kalakaran sa Agrikultura at Sambayanan (LIKAS). Ms. Amelita F. Lagaya, the former President of the Association and currently the focal person for the SSF Project, welcomed the team and gave a tour inside the facility. Most of the machines are securely placed inside the facility, while some of them are also being utilized by members outside of the facility. All the property tags for the machines are visible, and Ms. Lagaya also ensured that all the machines are well kept and maintained inside the facility.
