MAKATI CITY — The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and USAID Opportunity 2.0 (O2) conducted a training of master DTI trainers on the content and delivery of the module titled, “YEP, You Can! Be Your Own Boss” from March 8 to 10, 2023, at the City Garden Grand Hotel, Makati City, as a prelude to its nationwide implementation.
DTI and USAID O2 agreed to develop an enhanced curriculum for DTI’s Youth Entrepreneurship Program (YEP) that will be used for all regions, including BARMM, to standardize the content of YEP and its implementation in the regions.
DTI Quezon, represented by TIDS/YEP Focal Person Jaryz Eden J. Lloce, took part in the training of master DTI trainers together with the other selected Region 4A YEP Focal Persons, TIDA Marie Lois A. Flores from the Regional Office, and STIDS Pathy Joy C. Furto from DTI Batangas.
The primary objective of the YEP! You Can Be Your Own Boss Training is to provide life and entrepreneurship skills for youth who may be interested in starting their own small business. YEP! You Can Be Your Own Boss is a practical, activity-based, learner-centered training that provides step-by-step, industry-based business skills that will enable the youth to think of business ideas, design and present their business ideas and plans, and start their businesses by the end of the training. ♦
