Awarding of livelihood kits to 34 sari-sari store beneficiaries from the fire survivors in Teresa, Rizal

On September 21, 2022, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through Negosyo Center Teresa, held the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) awarding of livelihood kits to 34 sari-sari store beneficiaries from the fire survivors in Teresa, Rizal. The PPG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program of DTI which aims to assist individuals and families affected by fire incidents and other calamities, including the COVID-19 pandemic, to recover their businesses.

Business Counselor Arlene Olesco, of Negosyo Center Teresa, hosted the Awarding-cum-Distribution activity. The program started with an invocation led by PPG Coordinator, Mr. Michael Avisado. Hon. Mayor Rodel N. Dela Cruz delivered his inspirational message to the fire survivor beneficiaries in his town. He also gave an overview of his planned projects that will help small businesses recover.

DTI Rizal OIC Provincial Director Cleotilde M. Duran delivered her inspirational message She said that these livelihood kits are assistance from the government to the existing entrepreneurs who were greatly affected by the fire in the public market last year. She reminded the beneficiaries to manage and take care of what was given to them, to make their sari-sari store operation self-sustaining.

As the recognized Voice of the Business, the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) Antipolo through Mr. Bryant Kim-An delivered his message to the PPG beneficiaries and committed to help the LGU and its entrepreneurs in creating business organizations as collaborators in the development of Teresa, Rizal.

After the brief program, the awarding of livelihood kits to each sari-sari store beneficiary followed. Present during the awarding were Mayor Rodel Dela Cruz, OIC PD Duran, PCCI Antipolo President Kim-An, BDD Chief Sharon Dioco, STIDS Marlene De Luna, TIDS Jonalyn Adaya and Business Counselor Olesco.

Two of the PPG beneficiaries, Ms. Kristle Pastrano and Mr. Oscar Reyes, gave their testimony. Both of them thanked the DTI Rizal and the LGU of Teresa for the support and help that they received. Business Counselor Bernardo Maroto of Negosyo Center Pililia, Rizal then read and explained to the beneficiaries the Acknowledgement Receipt and Pledge of Commitment.

The program ended at 12 o’clock in the afternoon.
