On 20 April 2022 at 1:00 in the afternoon, the 3rd module on Business Law: Magna Carta for MSMEs and Related Laws for the Collaborative Harnessing Assistance and Mentoring Program for SMEs (CHAMPS) Season 3 was conducted through the Zoom application and streamed live on Facebook. The webinar program organized by the Department of Trade and Industry – Rizal was attended by CHAMPS beneficiaries and MSMEs from the province.

The session on Business Law was hosted by Negosyo Center Baras Business Counselor Leah Mae L. Clemente. On behalf of the DTI Rizal Provincial Director Desiderio G. Jurado III, Business Development Division Chief Sharon F. Dioco gave her welcoming remarks. Ms. Dioco cited the importance of understanding proper laws and regulations governing business operations. She emphasized that MSMEs should actively protect and safeguard their businesses in preparation to levelling up their operations.

Senior Business Counselor Genebee C. Nofuente, program coordinator of CHAMPS, presented the program module and introduced the resource speaker for Business Law. Atty. Ricardo C. Angeles Jr. of Angeles & Angeles Law Offices discussed the session on Business Law. Atty. Angeles productively discussed the Republic Act 9501 or the Magna Carta for MSMEs. He also tackled numerous related business laws and touched lightly upon the law on obligations, contracts, and loans.

After the discussion, Atty. Angeles answered questions as well as consultations in relation to the topic. Participants were appreciative of the discussion and were active during the webinar. The discussion on business law was well received by the participants wanting to learn more about respective laws and regulations governing their business operations. ♦
