The Department of Trade and Industry – Rizal takes part on the awarding ceremony of top ten business taxpayers in the municipality of Baras as the local government unit recognizes the efforts and participation of the business sector in the economic development of the town. The ceremony was attended by the municipal mayor, Hon. Wilfredo Robles, municipal vice mayor, Hon. Kathrine Robles, the Sangguniang Bayan members, barangay captains, the LGU’s department heads and employees.
On behalf of the Provincial Director of DTI Rizal, Ms. Cleotilde Duran, Business Development Division Chief Sharon Dioco graced the program. She highlighted the recent achievements of Baras ranked as 8th place in Economic Dynamism and 5th most competitive municipality over the country. She recognized and thanked the taxpayers in their contribution and continued help in economic development in the midst of the pandemic despite of the struggles they faced.
Furthermore, municipal mayor Hon. Wilfredo Robles acknowledged the presence of everyone, especially the business sector in helping the government for the implementation and success of its programs and services to its constituents.
During the program, an audio-visual presentation was played, highlighting the percentage of business tax collected, establishments and employment, the personnel involved in the business one-stop shop and action photos during its implementation in the town proper and upland areas of Baras.
Of all the top and early taxpayer awardees, San Miguel Foods, Inc hailed as the top one business taxpayer of the town while Ms. Precy Sanchez, owner of Crestbrook Building, gained the top early taxpayer award. A plaque and token of appreciation was also given to DTI Rizal Provincial Director Ms. Duran thru BDD Chief Ms. Dioco for her participation on the event.
The awarding ceremony was followed by blessing of the new Baras business center one stop shop. This will be the new office of the BOSS team including Negosyo Center Baras where they will cater the needs of entrepreneurs in business operations and development. ♦
