The Department of Trade and Industry-Rizal Provincial Office, in cooperation with the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA) and the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC), rolled up their sleeves and undertook the profiling of coconut farmers at Barangay Calawis in Antipolo City. This profile-building activity is an effort to implement the Coconut Farmers and Industry Development Plan (CFIDP).

Coconut Farmers at Barangay Calawis, Antipolo City while filling their application.

The CFIDP Rizal Project Coordinator, Jerome M. Montealegre, Mr. Allan George Gutierrez, an agriculturist from PCA, and Ms. Jena De Guzman, from PCIC, ranged the mountainous part of Antipolo City to be able to profile 32 coconut farmers. No less than City Mayor Casimiro “Jun-Jun” Ynares III graced the activity and left inspirational messages for the attendees, including the farmers. However, most coconut farmers encountered difficulty securing attachments, which is why they had a relatively low turnaround. This activity is a prelude to their registration at the National Coconut Farmers Registry System. Said registration is necessary before they can avail of different assistance from the government under the CFIDP Program.
