The Department of Trade and Industry Rizal, through Negosyo Center Antipolo, distributed livelihood kits to 107 beneficiaries of the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Program on October 10, 2022, in Sports Hub, Barangay San Isidro, Antipolo City.
PPG is a post-disaster response livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program of DTI which aims to assist individuals and families affected by fire incidents and other calamities, including health disasters like the COVID-19 pandemic, to recover and/or start their businesses.
The program started with Consumer Advocacy for Rizal Entrepreneurs seminar. Ms. Concepcion Ramos, OIC-Chief of the Consumer Protection Division-Rizal, led the discussion. She covered the different types of sales promos and how to apply for a sales promo permit. She also discussed how and where to file a consumer complaint.
DTI-Rizal OIC-Provincial Director Cleotilde Duran, Rizal Vice Governor Reynaldo San Juan Jr, and Antipolo City Mayor Casimiro “Jun” Ynares represented by his wife, former Mayor Andrea “Andeng” Ynares led the distribution of livelihood kits to 107 beneficiaries from the different barangays of Antipolo City. The livelihood kits awarded include packages for sari-sari store, salon/parlor, and barbershop.
OIC-PD Duran, who discussed the PPG program, stated that it is one of the government’s interventions, particularly for micro, small, and medium enterprises affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. The kits, which include materials, equipment, and initial stock, will assist them in starting or expanding their businesses.
Bryant Kim An, the president of PCCI Antipolo, gave the beneficiaries a final message. He also pushed the recipients to sustain their enterprises by using the livelihood assistance that was given to them.
Also present during the program were BDD Chief Sharon Dioco, STIDS Marlene De Luna, NC Antipolo Business Counsellor Daryl Andres, and AnTIPO OIC Amalia Engalla. ♦
