The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Quezon traveled to Alabat, Quezon to receive and inspect 2021 funded Shared Service Facilities’ machines and equipment delivered and supplied by Universal Commercial Corporation for the SSF for Coco Sap Sweetener Production in partnership with the local government unit of Alabat, Quezon and Alabat Island Farmers Producers Cooperative (AIFPC).

Mayor Fernando L. Mesa together with the DTI Negosyo Center Business Counselor (NCBC) Victoria T. Gonzales, the Chairperson of AIPFC, Mrs. Gloria O. Cadiz, and their officers and members, welcomed SSF Provincial Coordinator Ma. Graciela C. Ledesma and SSF Support Staff Dara Jannes C. Obmerga.

After lunch, a meeting followed about the SSF launch and discussed the details of the program, physical arrangement, and guests, as well as the training on the operation of the SSF.

Afterward, DTI SSF Quezon, NC Alabat, LGU Alabat, and AIFPC took a tour inside the Alabat Coco Sap Sweetener Building Facility where the SSF machines and equipment were delivered. SSF Provincial Coordinator Ledesma inspected the machines and equipment one by one and the manuals as SSF Support Staff Obmerga documented the activity.

Mr. Ernesto C. Domanico Jr. and Mr. Rence Luke F. Dasco from UCC tested the machines and equipment under the supervision of Mayor Mesa, Municipal Agriculturist Mylene Culing, LGU Alabat Food Technologist Austin Caralian, Assist. Engr. Jenna Marjorie M. Josol, Agri-Business Stella Mignonette Anggulo staff, AIFPC Production Manager Shanne Angeles, and AIFPC Chairperson Cadiz.

On 27 April 2022, they continued the testing of the SSF machines and equipment with DTI SSF Quezon, Negosyo Center Alabat, LGU Alabat, and AIFPC. They’ve seen how the machines and equipment work with the help of the UCC technicians.

The said project is expected to have its launch before the end of May 2022.♦
