On 30 – 31 March 2022, seminar was conducted by the Tourism Office of Local Government Unit of Tagkawayan, Quezon. The above-mentioned 2-day seminar provides information on the process of DOT accreditation as well its benefits and incentives to MSMEs. It was attended by almost fifty (50) participants composed of different business establishments – particularly in the accommodation industry, Barangay Local Government Unit (BLGU), and other Civil Society Organizations (CSO).

One of the speakers include Alberto Bay Jr., Acting Provincial Tourism Office Head from Quezon Provincial Tourism Office. During his presentation, he emphasized the importance of accreditation for it will determine if the institution complies with the minimum standards for the operation of tourism facilities. Moreover, it will be beneficial to the locales of the said municipality because it will not just generate income but will also uplift the tourism industry.

On the latter part of discussion, Riezl Jane B. Hernandez, Business Counselor – Negosyo Center Tagkawayan, Quezon gave a little but relatively discussion about the assistance and intervention under Department of Trade and Industry. Furthermore, she encourage MSMEs to apply for their DTI certificate to avail other government services as well as to create linkages with other agencies. ♦
