To instill innovation and enhance competitiveness of the micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), the CALABARZON Regional MSME Development Council, spearheaded by the Department of Trade and Industry Region IV-A and in partnership with the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry Southern Luzon, will be holding the 4th RMSMED Council Conference on 27 September 2018 at the St. Jude Coop Hotel and Resort in Tayabas City, Quezon.

The theme is an offshoot from what the National MSME Summit (held in Clark, Pampanga on 10-11 July 2018) has espoused, with a slight tweak, “Accelerating 7Ms for Innovative Competitive MSME: The CALABARZON Challenge.” It will feature various opportunities and initiatives under the so-called 7Ms-framework for successful entrepreneurship that stands for: (1) Mindset Change, (2) Mastery, (3) Mentoring, (4) Money, (5) Machine, (6) Market Access, and (7) Models of Business. This 7-point strategy framework was first introduced in the Philippines-hosted 2017 ASEAN Summit last 14 July, as initiated by the ASEAN Economic Council (AEC).

“The Conference this year will highlight the role played by the MSMEs as providers of employment and drivers of the country’s economic growth in alleviating poverty.  The Council believes that the continued support from both government and private sector to our MSMEs will enable our MSMEs to be instrumental in generating inclusive growth,” said DTI CALABARZON Regional Director and Chairman of the CALABARZON Regional MSME Development Council Marilou Q. Toledo.

Prominent industry leaders, promising entrepreneurs, innovators, advocates, mentors, and enablers will be present at the Summit to share their business knowledge, insights, and successful journey as they interact with other resource persons and experts.♦
