LILIW, LAGUNA – The Department of Trade and Industry-Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) through the Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) conducted capacity building seminar for the 1st batch of barangay officials and Barangay Development Council Personnel in Liliw, Laguna, on 11 May 2021.
This is to maximize the potential of barangays to become economically independent and make them more effective partners in the attainment of the national goals and increase the awareness of barangay officials about the services offered by the Department through the Negosyo Centers.
A total of 30 barangay officials attended the said program. The topics discussed were on DTI programs and services, a project brief on LSP-NSB, how to start a business, and P3 COVID-19 Assistance to Restart Enterprises (CARES) Loan Program.
Moreover, NSB desk signages were disseminated to the barangay officials so as to start the operation of the NSB desk in their barangays.
Coincided with this LSP-NSB, a consumer education and advocacy initiative was also facilitated where DTI-Laguna discussed basic consumer rights and responsibilities and the salient features of the Consumer Act of the Philippines. This activity aims to increase consumer awareness and to help provide better protection to consumers. ♦
