PAGSANJAN, LAGUNA — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna), through its Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program, awarded livelihood packages to five (5) barangay-based business owners of Barangay Cabanbanan, Pagsanjan, Laguna, on 28 September 2020.

The awarding ceremony was graced by DTI-Laguna Chief Trade and Industry Development Specialist Marcelina B. Alcantara, Pagsanjan LGU Mayor Peter Casius M. Trinidad and Brgy. Cabanbanan Chairman Aurora R. Priola.

In their speeches, both Alcantara and Trinidad encouraged the beneficiaries to recover and sustain their businesses despite today’s challenging times. The beneficiaries are four doormat makers and one sari-sari store owner whose businesses are affected by the coronavirus pandemic.

Each of them received livelihood package amounting to no less than five thousand pesos, in the form of grocery items for sari-sari store and assorted kinds of cloth for doormat-making.

Prior to the awarding, the beneficiaries were given orientation on the PPG program and DTI Negosyo Center services such as business name registration and business consultancy and advocacy.

The PPG program aims to assist existing and potential entrepreneurs affected by natural calamities and man-made incidents through provision of information materials, training and livelihood kits.

DTI-Laguna has already awarded 72 out of 86 selected beneficiaries throughout priority areas in Laguna. One more livelihood kit distribution is scheduled this October.♦
