The Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) is a program of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) that allows a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing government services closer to the people through partnerships between relevant local government units (LGUs) and DTI. The DTI in partnership with the national government agencies, local government units, academe, non-government organizations, private sector and through the Negosyo Centers shall promote ease of doing business and provide access to development services for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) through Business Counselors in their area of responsibility.
For the Province of Rizal, the coverage of the LSP-NSB Program are sole proprietors that have their sari-sari store, this program will help them recover and bounce back from the effects of the pandemic due to COVID-19. The objectives of the LSP-NSB program is to increase awareness and engagement of the Negosyo Center and the services offered by the DTI.
After the 27 beneficiaries were selected based on their current business situation and compliance with the government’s policy for having a business, they underwent a coaching seminar and an orientation of the program from Negosyo Center Teresa, Rizal.
The awarding of the LSP-NSB Livelihood kits was given on September 16, 2020 at 10:00 in the morning at the Teresa Municipal Covered Court, Brgy. Poblacion, Teresa, Rizal. The 27 Beneficiaries received sari-sari store package from the Department of Trade and Industry-Rizal Provincial Office.
Honorable Vice Mayor Jose Jeriel SD. Villegas, gave his welcoming remarks for the beneficiaries of the LSP-NSB Program that he stated that “The program of the DTI will not help the economy of the town of Teresa but also help its people to boost their sari-sari store business.”
The Provincial Director of DTI Rizal, Mercedes A. Parreño, during her speech, inspired the 27 beneficiaries of the LSP-NSB Program that she said that “The kits that will be given like a seedling of hope that eventually will blossom once it grows and mature. That this will help their businesses grow and mature.”
Councilor Hoaward Francisco and Councilor Joshua San Jose. The beneficiaries were very thankful for the program of the Department of Trade and Industry that will help them grow their business and make it strong even at this time of pandemic.
Honorable Councilor Aurelio Selibio Jr. on his closing remarks, stated that “With the help of DTI under the leadership of Provincial Director Parreño will secure its prosperity of the town of Teresa.” He was thankful that Teresa entrepreneurs were chosen for this program.
The LSP-NSB Program was successful and the 27 beneficiaries were very grateful and inspired to have a positive outlook for their businesses. They were eager to become strong and successful entrepreneur upon receiving Sari-sari store Livelihood Kits by the help of the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay of the Department of Trade and Industry.♦
