The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through the Negosyo Center (NC) Catanauan, conducted a Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay and an information dissemination campaign in Barangay San Roque and Barangay Tagabas Ibaba, Catanauan, Quezon. This is one of DTI’s programs aiming to increase awareness and engagement of barangay officials about the services offered by DTI.

The program was facilitated by NC Catanauan Business Counselor Leah Maris S. de Imus. It was attended by the barangay officials, existing MSMEs, and potential entrepreneurs.

The business counselor briefly discussed the DTI Negosyo Center’s programs and services. She also provided an overview of the Rise Up Multi-Purpose Loan Program. Moreover, she shared basic information on how to start a small business and explained consumers’ basic rights and responsibilities. Participants who were not physically present during the activity were reached through information dissemination, and they were also given IEC materials and hygiene kits, which included alcohol and facemasks.

Both barangays have three (3) beneficiaries of business kits amounting to PHP 8,000.00 that contain items that could aid them to restore and improve their businesses. These LSP-NSB beneficiaries were profiled and an initial procedure was conducted.
