The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through Negosyo Center Mauban, conducted the Livelihood Seeding Program—Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) on 21 April 2022 at the Mansion Bahay ni Lolo Hapon of Brgy. Liwayway, Mauban, Quezon. This was made possible in cooperation with the Business Permit and Licensing Office (BPLO) – headed by Ms. Kenneth T. Caliwanagan, Licensing Officer I – and with the support of the Barangay Local Government Units of Liwayway.

The seminar was attended by 94 residents of Liwayway, including barangay officials, existing MSMEs, and potential entrepreneurs. It started with registration together with the distribution of hygiene kits to the participants, followed by the opening message from Barangay Captain, Leonardo P. Agudo. He expressed his gratitude and gave a warm welcome to DTI for organizing this kind of activity.

NC-Mauban Business Counselor Nicole P. Lleva discussed the different programs and services of DTI; Negosyo Center, Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay, Business Information and Advocacy, Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME), OTOP Next Gen, and Shared Service Facilities (SSF). She also provided information with regards to the different business planning phases in order to start a business. Afterward, Kenneth T. Caliwanagan shared the improved procedures in business permit registration and the different agencies involved throughout the process.

After the orientation, an open forum took place where participants raised their questions about their business, and one-on-one consultancy was given to MSMEs for their business operations. Business Counselor Lleva ended the program by giving thanks to all participants for their active participation, as well as to the Barangay Officials of Liwayway for making the event possible.♦
