NAGCARLAN, Laguna — The Department of Trade and Industry – Laguna Provincial Office (DTI-Laguna) thru its Negosyo Center Nagcarlan in coordination with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Nagcarlan conducted an inspection of business establishments at the temporary public market last 2 March 2021.
Before the actual monitoring of business establishments, Mr. Ronald Formentera of DTI-Laguna Consumer Protection Division and Ms. Jestine Arguidas of DTI-Laguna Negosyo Center Nagcarlan had a meeting with the market inspectors from LGU Nagcarlan. This activity aimed to check if the micro, small, and medium enterprises have secured their DTI Business Name Certificate.
A total of five fish stalls, six meat stalls, five chicken stalls, 10 sari-sari stores, and 14 fruits and vegetables stalls were visited and monitored, one of which was found to have no DTI Business Name Certificate yet.
LGU Nagcarlan market inspectors Mr. Arvin Veridiano, Mr. Edwin Gonzales, and Ms. Ruvilyn Castrillo interviewed the business owners if they have legal permits for operation. Concurrent with the interview, market inspectors checked the weighing scales of each business establishment monitored. Both DTI-Laguna staff witnessed the inspection of weighing scales used by business owners. All of the inspectors reminded the business owners to always display their legal permits and those with weighing scales with incorrect readings were given warning by the market inspectors.
