The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Quezon, through Negosyo Center (NC) Quezon, in cooperation with the Local Government Unit of Quezon, Quezon and in coordination with Sangguniang Barangay of Cometa, conducted the Livelihood Seeding Program – Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) on 21 April 2022 at Cometa’s Barangay Hall, Quezon, Quezon. The event was attended by one hundred ten (110) participants.

The program started with an opening prayer led by Negosyo Center Business Counselor, Marianel A. Omila, followed by the opening remarks of Barangay Captain, Hon. Simeon Macasinag, who stated how glad they are to be given the opportunity for this kind of program that aims to provide wider business development assistance and would also raise awareness among the participants, especially their existing and potential entrepreneurs.

During the session proper, NC Business Counselor (BC) Omila discussed the different programs and services of DTI. She tackled NC, Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay, Business Information and Advocacy, Kapatid Mentor Me (KMME), OTOP Next Gen, and Shared Service Facilities (SSF). She also tackled business name registration and the difference between the territorial scopes presented on the slides. How to start a business was also discussed.

Jeffrey M. Paclibon, Business Permit and Licensing Office Designate of LGU, was also present at the event. He discussed LGU’s Business Permit Process and its importance, to add to participants’ insight on business registration. An open forum followed right after which NCBC Omila and BPLO Designate, Mr. Paclibon, answered the participants’ queries mostly about business registration.

The participants received information materials and hygiene kits composed of facemasks and alcohol that were distributed with the help of the secretariat and BLGU Cometa. There are also 3 identified beneficiaries that will receive livelihood kits to help them improve their business.

Hon. Aaron Escolano, Barangay Kagawad, ended the program with closing remarks expressing gratitude to the invited residents who had given their time for the event. He also thanked the DTI and LGU representatives for an insightful afternoon. NCBC Omila also thanked the participants, LGU personnel, and BLGU for their warm welcome, help, and participation.♦
