The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Quezon Provincial Office, through its Negosyo Center Calauag, in partnership with the LGU of Calauag awarded the business kits to thirty-six (36) Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) on November 11, 2022, under the Livelihood Seeding Program–Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) and Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Programs at the Puregold Calauag Branch in Brgy. Sta. Maria, Calauag,Quezon.
The awarding of business kits was attended by thirty-six (36) registered MSMEs (8 males and 28 females). The twenty-nine (29) beneficiaries are from the Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program, while the seven (7) beneficiaries are from the Livelihood Seeding Program–Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB). Mr. John Mark Ricaro, PPG staff, Ms. Chelsea Canales, LSP-NSB staff, and Negosyo Center Business Counselors: BC Ma. Isabel C. Hirang, NC Calauag; BC Marijoyce Layesa, NC Pagbilao; BC Richard Balanac, NC Lopez; BC Aicel Joy Dongon, NC Dolores was present to assist the beneficiaries. Also, LGU representatives and officials, namely Ms. Melinda Borlado, Business and Licensing Officer, and Mr. Emmanuel Landicho, PESO Manager, and Hon. Marlon Noscal, Chairman of the Committee on Commerce and Trade, who were present in the ceremonies, expressed their gratitude to DTI for helping their constituents who were affected by the pandemic.
The PPG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program of DTI that aims to assist individuals and families affected by fire incidents and other calamities, including the COVID-19 pandemic, to recover their businesses. While one of the objectives of LSP-NSB is the provision of individual packages of business kits that could aid qualified affected individuals to restore and improve their businesses in the event of a catastrophic event like natural and human-induced calamities, including health disasters like epidemics and pandemics, Prior to the awarding ceremony, the beneficiaries underwent Entrepreneurial Development Training, where they were provided with information materials pertaining to the different services of DTI through the Negosyo Centers, as well as technical know-how in managing their enterprises. ♦
