Luisiana, Laguna – With the implementation of the Department’s Livelihood Seeding Program-Negosyo Serbisyo sa Barangay (LSP-NSB) Program, Negosyo Center Luisiana, in partnership with the Barangay Local Government Unit, conducts orientation on Deparment of Trade and Industry (DTI) LSP-NSB Programs and Services Consumer Advocacy to Barangay Development Council – Barangay Officials (BDC/BO). The activity aims to have a wider reach of business development assistance by bringing programs, activities and services closer to the people, specifically micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) affected by COVID-19 pandemic.

The activity was joined by newly assigned Provincial Director Clarke S. Nebrao and Business Development Division Chief Marcelina B. Alcantara. The event was implemented last Friday, 28 May 2021 at Barangay San Isidro Covered Court.

A total of 53 participants attended the said program from Barangays Zone II (Pob), San Isidro, San Pedro, San Rafael, San Salvador and Santo Domingo which was selected by the local government unit (LGU) of Luisiana. The provision of six NSB signage’s where provided to the selected barangays.

The NC Business Counsellor Elmer C. Sagales, provided orientation How to Set Up the NSB Help Desk providing information to BDC/BO on how to guide potential MSMEs in acquiring necessary business permits and information on how to start their business. DTI programs and services were shared by Ivylou M. Flores while Monica Ferrer discussed the DTI Consumer Advocacy. Benson, a representative from Small Business Corporation (SBCorp.) provided information on the financial opportunities that the MSMEs may avail.

This activity is under the LSP-NSB, which is part of the Republic Act Number 11469 also known as the Bayanihan Heal as One Act. This program aims to provide package of livelihood kits and business advisory assistance and services to the MSMEs affected by natural and human-induced calamities including health disasters like COVID-19.♦
