Pangil, Laguna – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Laguna, through Negosyo Center Pangil, continues to provide seminars/trainings to help the new and existing entrepreneurs of Pangil and nearby cities and municipalities gain more knowledge on the operations of their businesses. Webinar on Facebook as a Digital Marketing Tool: Setting Up a Page Cum Online Payment was conducted last 19 October 2021 via Zoom.
Digital Marketing plays a vital role in growing small businesses. It entails marketing of goods and services using digital technologies and digital mediums. In this context, it would be pertinent to note that with the advent of social media, marketers now have the chance to utilize the opportunities offered by digital marketing using social media like Facebook. Facebook is one of the most popular social media platforms. From a marketing perspective, there are many opportunities to engage with new audiences and expand the businesses’ reach. Marketing through social media is one of the effective and convenient way a business owner can do for his/her business amidst the pandemic. Another essential tool in digital marketing is the usage of online payment in businesses. Accepting a range of payment methods, including online payments, can help small businesses attract new clients and receive payment faster from existing customers.
The webinar was hosted by Negosyo Center Business Counselor Danica R. Briones of Negosyo Center Pangil. It was commenced with an opening prayer led by the Business Counselor followed by a warm welcoming message graced by DTI Laguna’s Provincial Director (PD) Clarke S. Nebrao. Joemarie C. Valizado, Senior Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Santa Maria, was the resource speaker. Valizado started with identifying the businesses of the MSMEs that participated in the webinar. She later on gave an introduction and discussion about digital marketing followed by a logo and tagline quiz to engage the participants in the discussion. After the introduction on digital marketing, Valizado shared her knowledge and expertise in the usage of Facebook in marketing one’s business. She also demonstrated the creation of a Facebook page and gave some tips to the webinar attendees on how they can effectively use their Facebook pages in promoting their businesses. At the end of her lecture she also discussed about using an online payment platform like GCash and guided the participants in the creation of their GCash accounts.
The webinar received a cheerful feedback from the MSMEs in Laguna and they expressed their satisfaction with the learning activity. They are also looking forward for more programs and webinars that they can learn from.
A total of 30 potential and existing MSMEs in the different parts of Laguna attended the said webinar. ♦
